Subject: its my fault .....
jerry completely zones out on Terrapin, this is why i think .....so i hitch from florida to meet some friends at the Fox. they had shrooms and i had this
...
supposed windowp that these guys who picked me up had...got inside and my friends wanted to switch substances with me ,so we did .....fox theater is fancy inside ,we were in the balcony center front.first set went buy, then i guess i went down to the lower part to see if i could get closer. the seccurity was workin overtime keeping heads seated and out of the aisles. each song would bring a new wave of dancers up the center aisle to the front, then the security would do there thing, kind uptight, but i can understand..now,hah. so, ok,dont ease was there, then i think the issue with the security was distracting the band actually,if you listen minglewood is without a jerry solo, then ramble on jerry messes up the lyrics(maybe he was buzzed alot), so i am in this wave of center aisle heads for saint and now i am shrooming hard,so hard in fact that i am oblivious to the fact that now i am the only one freaking out dancing in very front of the center aisle of the FOX THEATER,hahajust me and the DEAD right in front of bobby "i dont what im going for,but im gonna go for it for sure , HAH " they must been laughin inside seeing this one dude going nexxt level...until right at the end of Sain i get grabbed by security POOF ,there goes that"all right, thats it" says him and pulls me out stage left right in front of Jerry as i hear Terrapin(he was on left then).and out a side door onto the sidewalk in seconds, i was like "HUH,what just.....etc" saw here i am rushing on the sidewalk in Atlanta outside the fox,so i started walking back up to the front when right in like 10 steps SOME HEADS HAD A DOOR CRACKED !!!! and i got right back inholy shit that was a rush....i retreated to the balcony humbled for ever.. then of course they plaayed Miracle shortly affter,lol...anyway thats why i think that Terrapin, etc was so messed ,Jerry was so distracted with security stoner head drama up front....perhaps

For anyone that went to these shows they were great and in hindsight while the songs are short as Arista was trying to rebrand the Dead and make it more
...
accessible they did not stop playing hard - First set is great -Like Bob flubbing Minglewood with 'NY fillies' in Atlanta. Jerry fucks Terrapin up about the worst I have ever heard - not sure what was happening there at first ,mike problem or something.... They pull out of that and with jam 28+ mins (at first sounds like the Playin from 12/31/81).

This recording is great. I also really liked the show. Favorites for me are Sailor > Saint. The unusual jam after Terrapin is nice. Good Lovin'

closer is great material, as the crowd presence and enthusiasm within the tape is perfect. The band has just enough pauses to let the audience participate there. This is my first review. If 3 means take it or leave it and 4 means take it, then 4-- take it.

Subject: Good '80 show, stunning '80 aud
If you like shows from 1980, especially the late spring/early summer period, this show will not disappoint. I mainly wanted to comment on the quality
...
of the aud itself, which is exceptional. Truly. Excellent work by Barry Glassberg. I'd say 'once again' but this one stands out, in my opinion, as the best sounding aud he produced. It's up there with the notable auds of 08-06-71 and 02-27-77. The tunes? All on the better side of competent, and a thoroughly enjoyable spring '80 show. Five for the sound, four for the music.
